xDream

xDream is the re-awakening of the child spirit. The child spirit lives everywhere: in our memories, the corners of our emotions, moments of mischief and euphoria, and whispers in the trees. In our youth, it grew from a seedling into the shape of the internal conscience, that little voice in your head that tells you right from wrong. When you are a child, you learn to sculpt your morals around the external world. The more your sense of judgement is accustomed to this world, the more you are accepted into it. The way we make decisions and build personal morality is internal; however, it is reflected back at us in others, and in the forming rules of the social world and adulthood. Though our spirits are composed of everything around us, they interact with one another's externally specifically through our bodies. In my own pre-adolescence, something died. It was rattled into the earth and concussed. It rested locked within a time capsule––hidden away in my heart. I understood who I was before I had to question it. The truths I knew were sublimated deep within, and grew into dark monsters of fear. Until that death was acknowledged, until the day that I was ready to confront them––to be courageous enough to face my biggest secrets, the time capsule remained locked. In the darkness, a ghost echoed sweet nothings that I used to blame for misfortune. This album is a ritual of opening that capsule, to restore the honesty of the child spirit and to be free.
